It’s Been a Crazy Time!

I can’t believe it’s been almost two weeks since my last blog post. I guess I did mean it when I said I won’t be blogging as much over the next two months due to the rehearsal schedule for the show I’m working on.

But I had today off from work, so I did some things around the house and had some time for a quick blog post!

The End of Summer is Near

As we enter the middle of August, I often find myself reflecting on how quickly summer always seems to pass. Unofficially, summer begins on Memorial Day. Officially, it begins between June 20th and 22nd. But, for me, summer begins on my birthday which is in the first week of June. And even though it has no baring, I always associate the Fourth of July with the halfway point of summer.

Move Over Carrot Cake, I’m Coming For You! MB Recipe 34

Last week I finally treated myself to cake. Yes, cake! I have been avoiding the Cakes chapter of the Magnolia Bakery cookbook for a couple months. But I finally decided to make the cake that most intrigued me: the Hummingbird Cake.

July 2022 Baking Round-Up

This month, I made a huge dent in the Magnolia Bakery Cookbook project. (I’m kidding, of course. I only made one recipe!) But, July also saw the return to a time when this blog was just beginning. I made an Ina Garten recipe.

How Do I Save Money as a Blogger?

For the last few months, prices have been increasing on many goods and services. Gas prices were nearly $5 a gallon in my state (even with a tax holiday). Grocery prices went up. Even yarn and other crafty materials became more expensive. So you may be wondering how I continue to blog regularly when the majority of the content is about food that I make and crafts that I’m working on.

This week, I thought I write a post about I was able to cut some costs and actively maintain the blog. While I’m sure none of these tips are earth shattering, I thought they may help someone feel “seen” or like “It’s not just me.”

A Minty-Fresh No Bake Dessert for Summer – MB Recipe 33

As we enter the dog days of summer, I have decided to return to the Magnolia Bakery cookbook for this week’s recipe. But, this time there was very little actual baking involved in the end product.

An Almost Mid-Summer Update

I can hardly believe that it is almost the middle of July! The summer has just been flying by. Since it’s summer, I don’t like to turn the oven very much (or even at all) which is why the baking posts have been almost non-existent for the last couple of weeks. Not to mention I’ve personally been busy with a lot of different activities and trips into Manhattan.

Barefoot Contessa 54 – Chocolate White Chocolate Chunk Cookies

I can’t believe it’s been over six months since I last made an Ina recipe! Wow, time sure does fly!! This is also a quick post because things have been quite busy for me the last couple of weeks. But I did get a chance to get some baking in. I needed something quick and easy and thanks to streaming services I found the perfect recipe!

The Crochet Diaries June 2022

It’s been quite a crafty month for me. Though I did do some baking in June, I’d have to say that I think I made the most progress on my crochet projects. I’ve also started a new one that is working up much quicker than I expected.
