This month was just not as baking-heavy as February. This tends to happen in March for me as the weather gets warmer, the days grow longer, and I start emerging from my winter semi-solitude. But, I did manage to bake two recipes, though!
In fact, many of my posts were crafting related, versus baking related.
MB 22 – Super Rich Chocolate Cake
This chocolate cake is hands down the BEST cake I’ve ever eaten. Don’t just take my word for it, everyone who tries it agrees. I highly recommend you purchase the Magnolia Bakery cookbook as an investment just so you can bake this cake! You won’t be sorry, I promise!
I’ve made this cake a few times before. But this time, it was for my father’s birthday and I also made the called for frosting. Which, in case you wanted to know, is equally tasty.
MB 23 – Lemon Zest Muffins
Breaking away from cakes for a brief time, I made muffins. Lemon Zest muffins to be exact. These were a great way to usher in the spring season with the light and bright lemon flavor. The moist muffins were perfect for breakfast or as a snack. It also ended up not using as many lemons as I expected. Now I just have too many lemons…
That was all the baking for this month. Head over to the post about the crafting escapades for this month to see what else I’ve been up to.
